Your hike has inspired me. I choose not to do a thru hike this year, but will next. In the meantime, I work just outside of Glacier National Park and we get a lot of CDT hikers. On my days off now, I will pick them up and bring them to their starting point on the trail. Feels good to help and I am learning a lot.

I know you are limited for cargo space. Do you have a fire extinguisher? Also, do you carry extra fuel? I take about 10 gallons / 40 liters of fuel when I drive up to Big Bear. It just extra fuel I have in case someone ran out of gas but no way am I paying Big Bear gas prices.

when I slept in my car in what felt like freezing temperature it was wild I am so thankful I had heat but u can't keep ur car on forever and when I would turn it off my gosh it was cold asf.. but I made it and it didn't help that I never slept in snow or in temps that low before I am from the islands so I never experienced how to survive in that kind of conditions in a car other then common sense and what could happen to u!

Sleeping bag inside of a sleeping bag certainly does the trick!
